Prince Harry<\/strong><\/a> and Meghan Markle<\/strong><\/a> are hitting back at a new royal book.<\/p>\n The Times<\/a><\/em> recently published excerpts of author Tom Bower<\/strong>\u2018s forthcoming book Betrayal: Power, Deceit and the Fight for the Future of the Royal Family<\/em> in which he makes explosive claims about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex\u2019s marriage, finances, and relationship with the British Royal Family.<\/p>\n Following the release of the excerpts, a spokesperson for the couple fired back at the writer, accusing him of pushing conspiracy theories about Harry<\/strong>, 41, and Meghan<\/strong>, 44.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span> \u201cMr. Bower\u2019s commentary has long crossed the line from criticism into fixation,\u201d their spokesperson told People<\/a><\/em>. \u201cThis is someone who has publicly stated, \u2018the monarchy in fact depends on actually obliterating the Sussexes from our state of life,\u2019 language that speaks for itself.\u201d <\/p>\n The statement continued, \u201cHe has made a career out of constructing ever more elaborate theories about people he does not know and has never met. Those interested in facts will look elsewhere; those seeking deranged conspiracy and melodrama know exactly where to find him.\u201d <\/p>\n In the new book, Bower<\/strong> revisits tensions between the couple and the Royal Family, making a number of controversial claims, including that Queen Camilla<\/strong><\/a> once told a friend that Meghan<\/strong> \u201cbrainwashed\u201d Harry<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The book also alleges that Meghan<\/strong>\u2018s influence distanced Harry<\/strong> from his family and longtime friends, and questions aspects of the couple\u2019s media ventures and finances.<\/p>\n Another part of the book focuses on Harry<\/strong>\u2018s Invictus Games<\/em>, claiming that the 2025 Games<\/em> in Canada were overshadowed by attention on the couple, suggesting that the events became centered around Meghan<\/strong>\u2018s public appearance. The Invictus Games Foundation has denied these claims.<\/p>\n Bower <\/strong>also appeared to question the legitimacy of some of the competitors\u2019 injuries, including references to athletes recovering from PTSD rather than visible physical wounds.<\/p>\n Following the criticism of the Games<\/em>, a spokesperson for the Invictus Games Foundation hit back.<\/p>\n \u201cIt is disappointing to see The Times <\/em>give prominence to commentary that appears driven by a long-established agenda rather than a genuine understanding of the Invictus Games<\/em> and the community it supports,\u201d the spokesperson said in a statement. <\/p>\n The spokesperson stressed that the Games<\/em> are focused on \u201cthe recovery and rehabilitation of wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans from around the world,\u201d adding that attempts to question competitors\u2019 legitimacy or minimize conditions like PTSD are \u201cdeeply disrespectful to the men and women the Games were created for.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThe focus should remain where it belongs \u2014 on the courage, recovery and camaraderie of those who have served,\u201d the statement added.<\/p>\n Back in January, Prince Harry<\/strong> was in the UK, where he gave an emotional testimony in his trial<\/a> against Associated Newspapers Limited, the publisher of The Daily Mail<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
