The series star, Sarah Michelle Gellar<\/a>, took to Instagram<\/a> Saturday morning to share that Hulu is no longer moving forward with the project, which was revealed to be in the works in February 2025.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am really sad to have to share this, but I wanted you all to hear it from me. Unfortunately, Hulu has decided not to move forward with Buffy: New Sunnydale,\u201d the actress said in a video. \u201cI want to thank Chlo\u00e9 Zhao<\/a>, because I never thought I would find myself back in Buffy\u2019s stylish yet affordable boots. And thanks to Chlo\u00e9, I was reminded how much I love her and how much she means not only to me but to all of you.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added, \u201cThis doesn\u2019t change any of that, and I promise if the apocalypse actually comes, you can still beep me.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
