The concert will feature Lumen Antiqua, a vocal trio devoted to the art of <em>a cappella<\/em> singing for treble voices.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Comprised of soprano Rachel Farhi, mezzo-soprano Jessi McKinnon, and mezzo-soprano Becca Tobin, <span class=\"s1\">RenegadeEnsemble<\/span> formed in 2025 with the goal of connecting audiences to the living thread of song.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">In addition to works by local composers Abbie Betinis, Michael Maiorana, and Becky Sun, they will premiere a new work by RenegadeEnsemble Artistic Director Jonathan Posthuma titled <em><span class=\"s2\">Epigraphs: A Cantata <\/span>Inspired by Louisa May Alcott<\/em> that will also feature guest soloist Abs Trewin.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_11183\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-11183\" style=\"width: 1100px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-11183\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Saint Paul, Minnesota-based composer Jonathan Posthuma is one of the local composers featured in the program.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"p1\">The second half of the program will feature another piece by Posthuma titled <em>Seven Visions of Hildegard von Bingen<\/em> that will be performed by a septet of local singers:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p2\">soprano Gabrielle Doran,<\/li>\n<li class=\"p2\">mezzo-soprano Elena Stabile,<\/li>\n<li class=\"p2\">alto Damara O\u2019Malley,<\/li>\n<li class=\"p2\">tenor Scott Senko,<\/li>\n<li class=\"p2\">tenor Michael Claver,<\/li>\n<li class=\"p2\">baritone Erik Linnell, and<\/li>\n<li class=\"p2\">bass Dana Wanamaker.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p2\">Singers will be self-accompanied by melodicas and a collection of glass bowls. The final work on the program will be another world premiere by local composer Simon Sperl entitled <em>Truth is Truth<\/em>, setting a text by Mahatma Gandhi.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The Vanguard New Music Series, which began in 2022 with a mission to promote and perform works by living composers in Minnesota.
