Pearl Jam<\/a>\u2018s Mike McCready has announced a new graphic novel and \u201clost\u201d rock opera titled Mike McCready\u2019s Farewell to Seasons<\/em> \u2013 check out all the details below.<\/p>\n The guitarist has been developing the multimedia project for over 20 years, initially envisioning it as a musical, before developing it to its current format with the help of director and writer Cameron Crowe.<\/p>\n McCready is set to tell a fictional tale of the life of a Seattle musician named David Williams, who navigates the city\u2019s burgeoning music scene in the early 1990s. The \u201chistorical fantasy\u201d is co-authored by McCready and comic writer Mark Sable and will be accompanied by a rock opera featuring original music written from the perspective of Williams.<\/p>\n As for the inspiration and plot, McCready described it as a story \u201cinspired by the creativity, community and chaos of the Seattle music scene\u201d (per Loudwire<\/em><\/a>).\u00a0\u201cI\u2019ve had a great time bringing this project to life with Z2 and I hope people enjoy the journey as much as I did creating it.\u201d<\/p>\n The graphic novel, illustrated by Argentinian artist Sebasti\u00e1n P\u00edriz is set for release on October 6, with deluxe and platinum editions including a soundtrack featuring new and original songs penned by McCready.<\/p>\n Rantz A Hoseley, Z2\u2019s Editor in Chief, added of the project: \u201cHaving been in the heart of the NW music scene as a journalist in the 1990s, I\u2019ve wanted for years to work on a project that would reflect what it was actually like for the musicians and the fans when \u2018the world came to Seattle.\u2019<\/p>\n \u201cI can say, without any hyperbole or exaggeration, that I feel like my entire creative life has led to me being involved with this book, and I feel so blessed to be a part of bringing Mike\u2019s beautiful and poignant story to the world.\u201d<\/p>\n Pre-orders are available now through the Z2 website here<\/a>, while physical copies will be available worldwide on October 6.<\/p>\n As for Pearl Jam, last year saw the band wrap up an extensive US tour in support of their latest album, \u2018Dark Matter\u2019.
