\n\t\u201cSeverance\u201d star Britt Lower <\/a>made the trip to Rome last week for the Valentino fall 2026 show<\/a>, held at the historic Palazzo Barberini.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cLike the city we\u2019re in, a Valentino<\/a> design is steeped in history, so you feel that when you slip into their clothing,\u201d Lower says. \u201cWithin the palette of Valentino<\/a>, I feel like I\u2019m stepping out of a Fellini film. It\u2019s been raining all morning here in Rome, and the saturation of colors in the architecture is delicious.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tFor the show, the actress and her stylist, Rose Forde, chose a trenchcoat as the star of the look, along with a pair of tall embellished boots.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe were both immediately drawn to this trench, it felt timeless; the color, the collar stood out,\u201d Lower says. \u201cPaired with these boots, the whole thing feels fresh and joyous.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tWorking with Forde \u201creminds me of working with a designer on a film set,\u201d Lower says. \u201cRose and I initially bonded over our love for David Bowie and whenever we are in doubt, we ask, \u2018Well, what would Bowie choose?\u2019 And we find our answer. We look at his great legacy of style and playfulness as our North Star.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tFor the Valentino show, Lower\u2019s makeup was done by Zoe Taylor and hair by her husband, hairstylist Kenna Kennor.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cMy hair color and cut always play a part in my style decision.\u00a0My hair is longer right now, so I\u2019ve been feeling game to wear it down.\u00a0And to see my red hair against the texture, the shimmer of this trench was exciting,\u201d Lower says.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile in Rome for the show, Lower made time for good food \u2014 in this case, risotto with fennel and carrot \u2014 and lots of walking.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWhenever we arrive in a new city, my husband and I pick an errand within walking distance and immediately go for a long trek across town,\u201d she says. \u201cWe take in the way people bustle through the streets. We often go to thrift stores to see what treasures people have let go of. Here in Rome, we chose a camera store, with the Pantheon en route (whoa, the concrete dome \u2014 not reinforced since it was built in 125 AD), to pick up some Polaroid film.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tLower\u2019s Valentino journey wasn\u2019t over once the show wrapped; immediately following Rome, she was heading to SXSW for the premiere of her new movie \u201cSender,\u201d where she would again wear Valentino.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cSo getting to experience the show here in Rome feels like perfect timing,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
