TWO years ago, when he started Brownz Records, Longwood, Clarendon-based Kenroy \u201cShadow\u201d Brown had a vision to nurture up-and-coming talent, as well as produce positive music.<\/b><\/p>\n
That vision has borne fruit with the release of the Heal This World<\/i> rhythm project, which is a testament to his deep love for his roots, culture, and spiritual movement.<\/p>\n
Brown draws on the rich tapestry of Jamaican reggae, weaving spiritual and cultural narratives into his production, which brings together some of reggae\u2019s most vibrant voices, including Richie Spice, Lutan Fyah, Chezidek, Turbulence, Ginjah, and Lolaa Smiles.<\/p>\n
The Heal This World<\/i> rhythm is more than a collection of songs, it\u2019s a cultural revolution in sound. Each artiste brings a unique energy to the rhythm, channelling messages of hope, resilience, and unity. Early responses have been overwhelmingly positive, with fans and critics alike praising Brown\u2019s ability to marry traditional reggae with a global sensibility.<\/p>\n
In an interview with the Jamaica Observer<\/b> recently, Brown, who previously worked with the likes of Norris Man and others, shared the idea behind Heal This World <\/i>rhythm.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe whole idea was to put out something positive to counteract the negative songs that are being played. I am encouraged by the positive response from the public and this shows that there is a market for good quality and positive music,\u201d said Brown.<\/p>\n
He continued: \u201cIt was because of the love that I have for music, that\u2019s why I decided to get involved and push positive messages. There are also several up-and-coming acts who have not gotten the opportunity to showcase their talent, so we have to look out for the next generation of artistes and musicians with the hope that they will spread messages of positivity.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Heal This World<\/i> rhythm took three months to complete.<\/p>\n
According to Brown, it wasn\u2019t difficult getting the artistes to participate in the project.<\/p>\n
\u201cOnce they understood the vision and what we wanted to accomplish, it was easy,\u201d he shared.<\/p>\n
The artiste told the Observer <\/b>that he wishes to distinguish himself musically by bringing a positive and uplifting vibration to inspire others.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy ultimate goal is to elicit positive feedback from the public. Whenever someone mentions a song that I produce there has to be some positive vibration. The work that I put out there should speak for itself,\u201d said Brown.<\/p>\n
