Amy Madigan<\/a> officially became the 2026 Oscar\u2019s secret weapon of Zach Cregger<\/a>\u2019s Weapons by picking up the best supporting actress trophy for her work in the film.<\/p>\n

Madigan, 75, set a new record with the win because it made her the actress with the longest gap (40 years and one month) between a first nomination and a first victory. She received her first nod for 1985<\/a>\u2019s Twice in a Lifetime<\/a>, a Bud Yorkin-directed film that also starred Gene Hackman<\/a>, Ann-Margret<\/a> and Ellen Burstyn<\/a>. The previous record holder amongst actresses was Geraldine Page<\/a> who won for The Trip To Bountiful<\/a> at the 1986 Oscars. It came 32 years and one month after her first nomination for Hondo<\/a> at the 1954 Oscars.<\/p>\n
