The 44-year-old TV presenter visited her general practitioner (GP) on Saturday (14.03.26) to get it looked at, days after learning her friend Mel’s non-disclosed ordeal, which gave Anna a wake-up call not to ignore symptoms and to prioritise health checks.<\/p>\n
Anna posted a selfie of herself in the clinic’s waiting room on Instagram on Saturday with the caption: “I was reminded this week how precious life is. How fragile our health is and how often I may personally take it for granted.<\/p>\n
“Now, I joke about being a hypochondriac (and tbh I can be at times) but in truth I tend to focus on those around me more health wise than myself because I am so used to being in that role.<\/p>\n
“This week one of my friends was given the worst news anyone can get and reminded us all that if it doesn\u2019t feel right, get it checked. So I\u2019ve listened.<\/p>\n
\n“I\u2019ve had a large cyst \u2018down there\u2019 for some time, it\u2019s been checked but not for a long while and it\u2019s been bothering me again.<\/p>\n
\n“I was putting off getting it checked as I\u2019ve been busy. But I realised that was not the advice I give, nor is being given to me. <\/p>\n
\n“So yesterday I rang the GP, they were fantastic and I got an appointment today (I know, incredible!) with their Saturday clinic to get checked. (sic)”<\/p>\n
\nThe Celebs Go Dating agent was relieved that the cyst was “not of concern and is purely cosmetic”, and she has now been referred to a gynaecologist.<\/p>\n
\nAnna added: “A few minutes of having an examination (by a male GP who was excellent + very knowledgeable) has been priceless in giving me peace of mind. (sic)”<\/p>\n
\nThe former children’s TV presenter has urged her followers not to “ignore things in your body that feel off”.<\/p>\n
\nAnna continued: “We\u2019ve all got genitals and no one particularly loves whipping them out for examining, but remember, the docs see willy\u2019s, vag\u2019s, boobs, bums aaaallll the time. <\/p>\n
\n“They give zero s**** whether you\u2019re super clean\/shaved\/got good undies on. They are there to do their job and look after you.<\/p>\n
\n“From something so horribly cruel happening to one of the bravest people I know, I want to share Mel\u2019s selfless advice to ‘just get it checked because it might just save your life. (sic)'”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
