In Scarpetta<\/em>, Kidman plays Chief Medical Examiner Kay Scarpetta, a woman with a tumultuous past (and, honestly, present), who is out to catch a serial killer.<\/p>\n First of all, the Prime Video series is absolutely star-studded. In addition to Kidman, we get Jamie Lee Curtis (playing her boisterous sister), Simon Baker (as her secret-keeping husband), Bobby Cannavale (as her brash brother-in-law) and Ariana DeBose (as her grieving niece). This means we get A-list stars in nearly every scene we see, making for great TV, despite the missteps in casting.<\/p>\n Kidman is spectacular, but really wrong for the role. Scarpetta is supposed to be a chain-smoking, get-your-hands-dirty kind of gal. Curtis’s character is a sex-positive free spirit.
