Now New Zealanders will be the first to experience what that means practically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At his SXSW keynote this weekend, co-CEO Gustav S\u00f6derstr\u00f6m announced plans for rollout of a new beta feature enabling people to \u2018review and directly shape\u2019 their Spotify taste profiles \u2013\u00a0the service\u2019s understanding of their preferences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We say \u2018rollout\u2019 but for now, it\u2019s only New Zealand getting access to the feature \u201cin the coming weeks\u201d \u2013\u00a0and only for premium subscribers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>A video in\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.spotify.com\/2026-03-13\/taste-profile-beta-announcement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Spotify\u2019s blog post about the announcement<\/a>\u00a0shows how it will work, with a new \u2019Taste Profile\u2019 option in the Spotify app\u2019s profile menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Subscribers will see a summary paragraph of what Spotify knows\/thinks they like, with a \u2018Tell us more\u2019 prompt box below it to give the algorithm a nudge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFlagging when your profile misses the mark\u2014asking for more or less of a certain vibe, or simply sharing what you\u2019re in the mood for,\u201d as Spotify described it.
