An Instagram post from ETalkCTV <\/a>shows the two coming very close to each other \u2015 just one person apart at one point \u2015 but manage to avoid making direct contact.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

It\u2019s possible neither noticed the other, but either way, it\u2019s probably a good thing considering Spielberg made some pointed remarks about<\/a> Chalamet\u2019s recent controversial take about the popularity of ballet and opera in modern society.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Spielberg also threw out a shot during a panel last week at SXSW while discussing the importance of movie theaters.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The director said that while he enjoys working with Netflix<\/a>, the real film experience comes \u201cwhen we can influence a community to congregate in a strange, dark space where all of us are strangers.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cAt the end of a really good movie experience, we are all united with a whole bunch of feelings that we walk into the daylight with, or into the nighttime with,\u201d he added. \u201cAnd there\u2019s nothing like that. It happens in movies, and in concerts. And it happens in ballet and opera, by the way.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

As the audience cheered, Spielberg said that \u201cwe want that [experience] to be sustained. We want that to go forever.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

celebrity.land has reached out to both Spielberg and Chalamet for comment. But it appears neither of them made a point to talk to each other at Sunday\u2019s Oscars, as the video below demonstrates.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
