Jimmy Kimmel<\/a> took some brutal swipes at President Donald Trump<\/a> and his wife\u2019s pet project while presenting the Best Documentary at the Oscars<\/a> on Sunday night.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The late night host commended the nonfiction nominees for their courage, telling audiences, \u201cAs you know, there are some countries whose leaders don\u2019t support free speech.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not at liberty to say which,\u201d he went on. \u201cLet\u2019s just leave it at North Korea and CBS.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

CBS hasn\u2019t been subtle about shaping its content around the president\u2019s taste. Since Trump took office last year, the network canceled his foe Stephen Colbert\u2019s late night show, installed MAGA-sympathetic<\/a> journalist Bari Weiss at their news division and temporarily shelved a \u201c60 Minutes\u201d story<\/a> about abuse at the El Salvadorian prison the administration was shipping deportees off to.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Kimmel then took a dig at first lady Melania Trump<\/a>\u2019s documentary, joking, \u201cThere are also documentaries where you walk around the White House trying on shoes.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Amazon<\/a> Studios reportedly paid a whopping $40 million for the widely-panned doc, prompting some to accuse the film of being nothing more than a thinly-veiled bribe. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Sneaking in one last barb before announcing the winner for Best Documentary Short, Kimmel said, \u201cOh man, is he gonna be mad his wife wasn\u2019t nominated for this.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
