Queen Elizabeth II “felt very left out” of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle<\/a>‘s wedding plans, in an early sign of tensions between the Sussexes and the rest of the Royal Family, reports suggest.<\/p>\n

The late Queen<\/a> reportedly told close friend and confidante Lady Elizabeth “Lisa” Anson, that Meghan rebuffed her attempts to contribute to the big day, insisting Harry needed to be present for any wedding planning.<\/p>\n

Royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith made the claims in a Substack post, alleging that Harry<\/a> also bypassed his grandmother to ask the Archbishop of Canterbury to perform the service in a move that left her “really upset”.<\/p>\n

Lady Anson told Ms Smith: “Harry has blown his relationship with his grandmother. She said she was really upset. I was shocked when the Queen told me this, how she was so saddened. I had no idea about the conversation, that he was rude to her for 10 minutes.”<\/p>\n

Ms Smith added that the Queen felt so “left out” of wedding preparation by Meghan that Harry ended up compromising by “writing her a letter about what was happening” days before the service.<\/p>\n

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been approached for comment.<\/p>\n
