The University of Scranton Lady Royals<\/a> departed from campus Tuesday afternoon.<\/p>\n Next stop: Salem, Virginia, home of the NCAA Division III women’s basketball Final Four.<\/p>\n Having successfully defended their home court at the Long Center through four rounds of play \u2014 the first and second rounds, Sweet 16 and Elite 8 \u2014 the Lady Royals (31-0) will play New York University (29-0) at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. The winner advances to the national title game against the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh (28-3) or Denison University (28-2).<\/p>\n In the Elite 8 win against Concordia-Moorhead, 67-42, senior Kaci Kranson<\/strong>, the D3Hoops.com Region 5 Player of the Year, scored a team-high 15 points. Katie Gorski, Meghan Lamanna<\/strong> and first team all-region selection\u00a0Kaeli Romanowski<\/strong> also scored in double-figures. Jenna Sloan <\/strong>and Elizabeth Bennett<\/strong> added seven points each. Freshman Sophia Talutto<\/strong>, the D3Hoops.com Region 5 Rookie of the Year, added four points. The Lady Royals are led by head coach Ben O’Brien<\/strong>, the D3Hoops.com Region 5 Coach of the Year.<\/p>\n The Lady Royals have won 11 consecutive Landmark Conference championships. They’re back in the Final Four for the first time since 2019.
