Meghan Markle<\/strong> and Prince Harry<\/strong> are making headlines once again after the two issued a statement over claims by journalist and author Tom Bower<\/strong>. Despite the retaliation, the author still believes that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have caused \u201cdamage\u201d to the royals for their profit. <\/p>\n Meghan Markle and Prince Harry recently issued a statement over Tom Bower\u2019s claims in his new book, \u201cBetrayal: Power, Deceit and the Fight for the Future of the Royal Family.\u201d In the book, he claimed<\/a> that Queen Camilla once told a friend that Markle \u201cbrainwashed\u201d Harry.\u00a0Additionally, he made a bombshell claim that Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton \u201cevidently saw Meghan as a threat rather than an ally\u201d as tensions soared ahead of the Sussexes\u2019 decision to leave the royal family in 2020 for a life in the US.<\/p>\n In retaliation, the Sussexes issued a statement that the author \u201chas long crossed the line from criticism into fixation.\u201d \u201cThis is someone who has publicly stated, \u2018the monarchy in fact depends on actually obliterating the Sussexes from our state of life,\u2019 language that speaks for itself.\u201d Markle and Harry further added that the author has \u201cmade a career out of constructing ever more elaborate theories about people he does not know and has never met,\u201d and called his claims \u201cderanged conspiracy and melodrama.\u201d<\/p>\n However, the author defended his comments, and told the Mirror that his \u201cinterview followed Meghan outrageously alleging to Oprah Winfrey\u201d about the treatment by the Royal Family, and believes since then the couple has \u201cshoddily continued to monetise their status and attack their family.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cUnfortunately they have chosen to continue to exploit their relationship for their personal and financial advantage,\u201d Bower claimed in the interview.
