Malaysia\u2019s Abnormal Studios<\/a> is formally entering the international sales arena at Hong Kong FilMart.<\/p>\n

The company previously attended the market under the Westec Media<\/a> name.<\/p>\n

The centerpiece of its debut sales slate is \u201cBecause of You Ka Kui,\u201d a feature documentary on Wong Ka Kui, the creative heart of Beyond \u2014 broadly considered the defining Canto rock band in music history. Produced by Yip Sai Wing, one of Beyond\u2019s founding members, and Leslie Chan<\/a>, the manager credited with discovering the group, the film is helmed by Hong Kong director Rosa Pang<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Drawing on candid conversations with people who knew Wong<\/a> personally and professionally, the film features rare concert recordings, previously unseen archival material from his formative years, and work he never released publicly.<\/p>\n
