The stellar line-up of famous faces taking on ITV\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>The Assembly have been confirmed as the bold interview series returns for a second extended run.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n National treasure\u00a0<\/span>Sir Stephen Fry<\/strong>, former Scottish First Minister<\/span> Nicola Sturgeon<\/strong>, comedy legend\u00a0<\/span>Sir Lenny Henry<\/strong>, actor\u00a0<\/span>Anna Maxwell Martin<\/strong> and BRIT award-winning rapper and\u00a0<\/span>I\u2019m A Celebrity star\u00a0<\/span>Aitch<\/strong> will each take to the hot seat for an interview like no other.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n They will face a no-holds-barred range of questions that no chat show, press junket or even parliamentary grilling has ever dared to ask.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The first series earned widespread critical acclaim with Danny Dyer, David Tennant, Jade Thirlwall and Gary Lineker\u2019s episodes hailed the \u201c<\/span>warmest, funniest telly you\u2019ll watch this year\u201d (The Guardian), \u201c<\/span>the most groundbreaking TV show of the year\u201d (Independent) and was billed as both \u201c<\/span>a breath of fresh air\u201d (The Mirror) and \u201c<\/span>extraordinary\u201d (Radio Times). It is breathtaking.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n Now, The Assembly – a remarkable group of inquisitive interviewers who are autistic, neurodivergent and\/or learning disabled – will be back putting their unique questions to this new batch of brave celebrities, where the rules remain the same: no question is off the table and no topic is out of bounds.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The series now extends to a 7×30\u201d run, which includes\u00a0<\/span>The Assembly: Unseen episode. Sir Stephen Fry and Nicola Sturgeon will air as episodes 1 and 2, respectively, this April (dates and times to be announced). Plus, the sixth and final celebrity rounding out this star-studded roster will be confirmed at a later date.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The series is produced by Rockerdale Studios and was commissioned by Katie Rawcliffe, Director of Entertainment, Reality & Daytime Commissioning ITV and David Smyth, Entertainment Commissioner ITV. And some fantastic celebrity guests, too.”<\/p>\n The show\u2019s format is an adaptation of French format\u00a0<\/span>Les Rencontres du Papotin, from Kiosco.tv, Quad+Ten and Can’t Stop Media, which has featured appearances from notable French figures including President Emmanuel Macron, who was memorably asked by the panel if it\u2019s really role model behaviour to marry one\u2019s teacher.
