And even though the drinking had started to hurt her, she carried on.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He admitted to introducing his former partner to heroin during their on-again, off-again relationship \u2014 but clarified she had allegedly \u201cexperimented\u201d with cocaine with a previous partner.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI never understood, do these people think that I forced Amy to do drugs? That\u2019s just not what happened,\u201d he insisted. \u201cI\u2019m not shirking responsibility, but this idea of daily facilitating \u2014 no. I wasn\u2019t the dealer.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>However, the 47-year-old pointed out Winehouse\u2019s \u201cagency\u201d on Tuesday.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>He called the late singer (pictured above in August 2007) a \u201cvery strong woman.\u201d <span class=\"credit\">Colin Drummond\/Gene Young\/Splash<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Fielder-Civil, whose brother Freddy Civil <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2022\/11\/22\/amy-winehouses-former-in-law-freddy-civil-dies-of-overdose\/\">died of a heroin overdose<\/a> in 2021, pointed out, \u201cI never blamed a person that gave me drugs for the first time. I\u2019ve never tried to put that on anyone. Why would I?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m never, ever here to say, \u2018Amy was bad,&#8217;\u201d he added. \u201cBut I know Amy wouldn\u2019t want me to still be sat here 20 years later saying it was all my fault. She\u2019d be saying, \u2018Get it right, babe. Come on.
