We\u2019ve always loved the energy in the downtown area. With so many great spots, it\u2019s become such a fun place to spend time,\u201d said Rojjanasrirat, noting neighboring businesses like <\/span>McLain\u2019s<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Drastic Measures<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Wild Child<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Transport Brewery<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>District Pourhouse<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Gilda\u2019s<\/span><\/a>, and <\/span>Hank\u2019s Garage and Grill<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n Located at 5907 Nieman Road, near the corner of Nieman and Johnson Drive, the new <\/span>Thai Orchid<\/span><\/a> space marks the start of a next chapter for the brand. The team is transitioning from its longtime Mission restaurant \u2014 set to close this fall \u2014 into an expanded, reimagined space. (<\/span>A Northland location that launched in 2025<\/span><\/a> is expected to remain open.)<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve been hoping to find the right opportunity here for the past few years,\u201d Rojjanasrirat said of the move to Shawnee. \u201cAnd when the chance came up to be part of the newly remodeled Marigold building, it just felt like the perfect fit.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n The space offers a blank canvas, he said, allowing the team to bring a thoughtful, design-forward vision to life under Nuttaphat \u201cAom\u201d Stonnisgul\u2019s creative direction, he said, noting their goal is to create a warm, inviting environment that feels like a friend\u2019s house.<\/span><\/p>\n Every detail is being considered to deliver a space that feels lived-in and an atmosphere guests will want to return to again and again, said Rojjanasrirat.<\/span><\/p>\n Tiger Cry from Thai Orchid; photo by Parker Anderson<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Raised in Bangkok and later studying in Shanghai, Stonnisgul brings a deep understanding of regional flavors and an intuitive sense for what makes a dish truly memorable.
