<\/story-highlights> The title of BalletMet<\/a>\u2019s next production offers a simple explanation for why they do what they do: \u201cFor the Love of Dance!\u201d<\/p>\n A celebration of artistic range and creative voices, the triple bill will showcase the work of three choreographers in a trio of mixed-rep ballets, which feature unrelated short ballets with intermission, much like a collection of short stories.<\/p>\n Alexei Ratmansky created \u201cSeven Sonatas\u201d while in residence with the American Ballet Theatre and premiered the work in 2009.<\/p>\n The ballet is set to Domenico Scarlatti\u2019s piano sonatas, which will be played by local pianist Mariko Kaneda<\/a>, and features six dancers (three couples), performing on a nightly rotation.<\/p>\n \u201cDivide and Conquer\u201d is a world premiere by BalletMet dancer Leiland Charles<\/a>, who collaborated with a fashion-design class from Columbus College of Art & Design to create costume concepts. Charles also has choreographed for BalletMet in the past.<\/p>\n Choreographed by Juanjo Arqu\u00e9s, \u201cIgnite\u201d draws inspiration from British painter William Turner\u2019s \u201cThe Burning of the Houses of Lords and Commons.\u201d<\/p>\n The dancers will be clad in red, yellow and orange silk to represent the flames that engulfed the government buildings.<\/p>\n Details<\/strong>: \u201cFor the Love of Dance!\u201d will be presented at 7:30 p.m. March 20-21 and March 26-28, and at 2 p.m. March 21-22 in the Davidson Theatre at the Riffe Center, 77 S.
