Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo DiCaprio are teaming up yet again, this time to co-lead Martin Scorsese\u2019s upcoming project, What Happens at Night<\/em>.The film marks the pair\u2019s first collaboration since 2021\u2019s Don\u2019t Look Up<\/em>, and Lawrence\u2019s first time working with Scorsese. Luckily, DiCaprio\u2014a frequent Scorsese collaborator\u2014has guided Lawrence on what to expect from working with the legendary Hollywood director.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a great thing, and he\u2019s going to give you a lot of film references,\u201d he told Lawrence during a conversation for Variety\u2019s \u201cActors on Actors\u201d series<\/a>. \u201cThey usually come in the form of a DVD. And if you don\u2019t have a DVD player, get one\u2026he\u2019ll have screenings sometimes for just one sequence in a movie. If there\u2019s something that he wants you to capture from an old film or the pacing of something, you might have a screening of a whole film just for a specific scene that he wants to see. We might see some Japanese ghost films for reference, just to get the tone of it. You\u2019re going to have an amazing time.\u201d<\/p>\n

What Happens at Night<\/em> is adapted from Peter Cameron\u2019s 2021 novel of the same name. The book\u2019s official synopsis reads: \u201cAn unnamed American couple travels to a strange, snowy European city to adopt a baby. It\u2019s a difficult journey that leaves the wife, who is struggling with cancer, desperately weak, and her husband worries that her illness will prevent the orphanage from releasing their child.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn arrival, the couple checks into the cavernous and eerily deserted Borgarfjaroasysla Grand Imperial Hotel, where the bar is always open and the lobby populated with an enigmatic cast of characters ranging from an ancient, flamboyant chanteuse to a debauched businessman to an enigmatic faith healer. Nothing is as it seems in this baffling, frozen world, and the more the couple struggles to claim their baby, the less they seem to know about their marriage, themselves, and life itself.\u201d<\/p>\n

Has it started filming yet?<\/h2>\n

The Prague Reporter<\/em><\/a> revealed that the movie is currently shooting \u201cacross the Czech Republic, with new filming planned in the historic town of \u00da\u0161t\u011bk in northern Bohemia\u201d starting on March 14. Czech tabloid Blesk<\/em><\/a> additionally reported on March 5 that What Happens at Night<\/em> also filmed at Ch\u00e2teau Kot\u011bra in Ratbo\u0159 near Kol\u00edn, a city 37 miles away from the country\u2019s capital of Prague.<\/p>\n

Who is in the cast?<\/h2>\n

Variety<\/em><\/a> confirmed on March 19 that supporting actors include Mads Mikkelsen (The Hunt<\/em>, Casino Royale<\/em>, The Promised Land<\/em>), Patricia Clarkson (Sharp Objects<\/em>, Easy A<\/em>, Delirium<\/em>), and Jared Harris (Mad Men<\/em>, A House of Dynamite<\/em>, Chernobyl<\/em>).<\/p>\n
