paid streaming revenues in the market jumped 14.1% YoY"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"p1\">Italy\u2019s recorded music market generated $579 million in trade revenues in 2025, up\u00a0<span style=\"color: #008000;\">+10.7% YoY<\/span>, largely driven by a double-digit jump in paid streaming revenue.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mb-advert__uber\">\n<div id=\"uberad\"><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/onerpm.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"p1\">That\u2019s according to new data from the\u00a0<b>Federation of the Italian Music Industry<\/b>\u00a0(<b>FIMI<\/b>) on<b> <\/b>Wednesday (March 18).<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Revenues generated by paid subscription streaming in the market were the sharpest contributor, climbing <span style=\"color: #008000;\">+<\/span><b><span style=\"color: #008000;\">14.1% YoY<\/span> <\/b>to <b>EUR \u20ac234.4 million<\/b> ($269 million) and representing <b>69% <\/b>of Italy\u2019s total streaming revenues.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Total streaming revenues in the country exceeded <b>\u20ac340 million <\/b>($390m), growing <span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>+<\/strong><b>9.6%<\/b> <b>YoY<\/b><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">While premium streaming continued to gain momentum, ad-supported streaming declined <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>-2.2% YoY<\/strong><\/span> to <b>EUR \u20ac51.3 million <\/b>($59m).<\/p>\n<p>FIMI noted that Italy\u2019s headline recorded music market growth rate of<strong> <span style=\"color: #008000;\">+10.7% YoY<\/span><\/strong> for 2025 was \u201cdouble the European regional average\u201d of<span style=\"color: #008000;\"> <strong>+5.6% YoY<\/strong><\/span> <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link-internal\" href=\"https:\/\/www.musicbusinessworldwide.com\/global-recorded-music-revenues-hit-31-7bn-in-2025-up-6-4-yoy-users-of-paid-music-subscriptions-reach-837m\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported this week<\/a> by the <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link-relationship\" title=\"Companies &gt; Export royalties rose <span style=\"color: #008000;\">+<b>13.9% YoY<\/b><\/span> to over <b>\u20ac32 million <\/b>($37m), with digital making up<b> 88% <\/b>of that total. Over six years, those royalties have grown <span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>+180%<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<h6 class=\"text-text-100 mt-3 -mb-1 text-[1.125rem] font-bold\">Italy\u2019s 2025 streaming and physical volume in numbers<\/h6>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">Italians generated <strong>99 billion<\/strong> streams in 2025, an average of 1.9 billion per week \u2014 up <span style=\"color: #008080;\"><strong>+5% YoY.<\/strong><\/span> Premium accounts generated 54% of that volume.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">New releases accounted for 16% of the streaming market. 82% of all streams came from songs released since 2010, with music from the past five years alone driving 57.3% of total streaming volume.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">In physical, <strong>4.6 million<\/strong> units were sold. CDs accounted for <strong>51%<\/strong> of that total volume, and vinyl accounted for <strong>47%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">Albums released between 2020 and 2025 accounted for <strong>71%<\/strong> of physical units sold.
