Interpol<\/a> have treated fans to the live debut of new song \u2018See Out Loud\u2019 as their 2026 world tour rolls on. Check out footage below.<\/p>\n The NYC indie icons recently kicked off their run of 2026 shows in Miami<\/a> before heading to South America for festival and headline dates. Their setlists had all been hits and fan favourites until last night (Thursday March 19) when the band played Audio at S\u00e3o Paulo in Brazil and slipped in new song \u2018See Out Loud\u2019 midway through the gig.<\/p>\n The song leans into the more pulsing and rhythmic vibe of their albums \u2018Antics\u2019 and \u2018El Pintor\u2019. While frontman Paul Banks takes the lead, guitarist Daniel Kessler lends a rare vocal over a synthy interlude before a rock crescendo, and the new song seems to reflect what the band told NME<\/em> about new material, after frontman Paul Banks shared with us that their next record was sounding \u201cquite high energy\u201d.<\/a><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u201c[It\u2019s] pretty great, to be honest with you,\u201d Banks told NME<\/em> back in 2024. \u201cI\u2019m pretty pumped about the stuff that we have worked on so far. That\u2019s all I can really say: it\u2019s an enthusiastic \u2018yes\u2019. It\u2019s pretty cool. With this [next] record, we\u2019re getting back to writing together in a room and my favourite tracks so far are quite high energy.\u201d<\/p>\n Then, last July, guitarist Daniel Kessler told us to expect \u201csome upbeat tracks, but also some different atmospherics that I don\u2019t think we\u2019ve had before\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cThere are different moods,\u201d he continued. \u201cIt\u2019s not all rock; some of it is more upbeat in a different kind of way to what people might think of Interpol. It\u2019s been a really fun process.\u201d<\/p>\n This marks Interpol\u2019s first new material since 2022\u2019s acclaimed seventh album \u2018The Other Side of Make-Believe<\/a>\u2019.<\/p>\n The band, led by a newly bleached-blonde Banks, are currently touring with The Armed\u2019s Chris Broome on drums<\/a>. Drummer Sam Fogarino, who joined the New York City band in 2000, underwent spinal surgery in 2023 and stepped back from touring<\/a>. They have however confirmed that Fogarino co-wrote and performed on the new album that was \u201ccoming soon\u201d.<\/p>\n\n<\/blockquote>\n
