Wyatt Flores<\/strong><\/a> is embarking on his next chapter of music.<\/p>\n The Stillwater, Oklahoma native is embarking on his new chapter of music since releasing his last LP, Welcome to the Plains<\/em>.\u00a0After breaking out back in 2023 thanks to the continued success of his 2022 platinum single, \u201cPlease Don\u2019t Go,\u201d and other viral hits such as \u201cLosing Sleep\u201d and \u201cBreak My Bones,\u201d the 24-year-old singer\/songwriter stunned everyone upon the release of his debut album,\u00a0Welcome To The Plains<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0<\/em>last October.<\/p>\n The record, which instantly transported you to Flores\u2019 home in Oklahoma, proved to be one of the year\u2019s best releases. Not only did it build upon the patented Red Dirt-inspired sound that he has been curating throughout his career, but it also contained some of the best songwriting moments of the year on stellar tracks such as the heartbreaking \u201cOh Susannah,\u201d the brooding \u201cStillwater,\u201d and the morbid yet hilarious \u201cWhen I Die.\u201d<\/p>\n Since the success of that release, Flores paused on releasing new music and focused on touring. However, at the end of 2025, fans received some exciting news from Flores regarding what\u2019s on the horizon. Flores recorded a clip that was shared with his top Spotify listeners for Spotify Wrapped, and he dropped big news that he\u2019s done with his next record<\/a><\/strong>:<\/p>\n \u201cWell, folks, it\u2019s that time of year again. We\u2019re all wrapping presents up and being around family, and I just want to say thank you for the last year of being on a whole bunch of \u2018Welcome To The Plains\u2019 tours. And watching y\u2019all really latch onto that music means a whole lot.\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n By the time that you probably will get this video, I\u2019ll have the next album done, and I\u2019ve got to say it is nothing like \u2018Welcome To The Plains.\u2019 I\u2019m very excited to show off what I\u2019ve been reflecting on over the last year. Hope y\u2019all like it.\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n While we are still waiting on news regarding the timing of this next LP, today, March 20, Flores has officially started the next chapter of his career. Flores dropped a brand new tune called \u201cRunnin\u2019 On E,\u201d and just as he said in the Spotify Wrapped video, this sound is much different than what he created with Welcome To The Plains<\/em>.<\/p>\n The tune features a Texas country rock-leaning sound, as Flores highlights the feeling of figuring out who he is in his early adult years through trials and tribulations, and sometimes running at full speed on an empty tank.<\/p>\n \u201c\u2018Runnin\u2019 On E\u2019 is a part of the story of my last two years, being old enough to know better, too young to care. As my world back home changes, I\u2019ve been working through my own story of not settling down yet. <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n Like a lot of themes coming on my album, this touches on my feelings of not being deserving and trying to hide that I struggle with self-worth. I\u2019m excited to start this new chapter with a new sound that I took over a year to find. I\u2019ve never been more proud of the direction I\u2019ve gone with the fellas.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n Flores shared.<\/p>\n The catchy melody of the song is matched with a chorus that gets instantly stuck in your head, reminding you of being young and not caring about the consequences of your actions or being worried about what the future holds. It\u2019s a true living-in-the-moment ditty.<\/p>\n \u201cYeah, I know exactly who you want me to be<\/em> Flores was not kidding when he said this was very different from Welcome to the Plains<\/em>\u2018 sound, but so far I dig it, and \u201cRunnin\u2019 On E\u201d has me excited to see what this Okie has in store for us.<\/p>\n\n<\/blockquote>\n
