Dwight Yoakam, who rose to fame with his 1986 debut album, is set to hit the Penticton stage.<\/p>\n

With multiple Grammy awards and 25 million records sold worldwide, the singer-songwriter will bring his country music sound to the South Okanagan Events Centre (SOEC) on Sunday, June 28.<\/p>\n

Yoakam was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2019. His catalog includes 12 gold albums and 9 platinum or multi-platinum releases.<\/p>\n

The Pikeville, Kentucky native\u2019s latest release, Brighter Days, marks his first record in nine years.<\/p>\n

Yoakam\u2019s career has also taken him to the silver screen as he has appeared in 40 feature films, including notable roles in Sling Blade (1996) and Panic Room (2002).<\/p>\n

\u201cYoakam is a multifaceted artist, seamlessly blending his musical talents with a robust acting career,\u201d reads a media release shared by Oak View Group, which manages the SOEC.<\/p>\n

Tickets to his Penticton show will go on sale Friday, March 27, at 10 a.m. They can be purchased at valleyfirsttix.com<\/a>, or at the SOEC box office.<\/p>\n
