\n\tARMY, you know what time it is. Now that BTS<\/a>\u2018 new album ARIRANG <\/em>has been out in the world for more than 12 hours, Billboard <\/em>wants to know which of the songs on the project has your heart.<\/p>\n \n\tReleased Friday (March 20), the LP features 14 tracks \u2014 all of which include members of the band on the writing credits, with production from Diplo, Tame Impala\u2019s Kevin Parker, Mike WiLL Made-It and Ryan Tedder. Across \u201cBody to Body,\u201d \u201cHooligan,\u201d \u201cAliens,\u201d \u201cFYA,\u201d \u201c2.0,\u201d \u201cNo. 29,\u201d \u201cSWIM,\u201d \u201cMerry Go Round,\u201d \u201cNORMAL,\u201d \u201cLike Animals,\u201d \u201cthey don\u2019t know \u2019bout us,\u201d \u201cOne More Night,\u201d \u201cPlease\u201d and \u201cInto the Sun,\u201d the Bangtan Boys showcase all the ways in which they\u2019ve grown since the last time they dropped a full-length, having developed as soloists and spent time in the South Korean military in the years after they topped the Billboard 200<\/a> with 2020\u2019s Be.<\/em><\/p>\n \n\tBut at the core of the album lies Korean history, and the band\u2019s still-unfolding part in it. The title is inspired by a traditional folk song, in which seven Korean men sang for a crowd<\/a> at Howard University back in 1896 to create the first-known recording of \u201cArirang,\u201d or so the story goes in a teaser posted by BTS about a week before ARIRANG<\/em> arrived. More than a century afterward, the seven members of BTS similarly pushed K-culture forward with their crossover success by embarking on an unprecedented run of Billboard Hot 100<\/a> No. 1 hits in 2020-21.<\/p>\n \n\tNow, the group comprised of RM, Jin, Suga, j-hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook is proving again how much it can achieve, with ARIRANG <\/em>marking just one step in the band\u2019s comeback journey.
