Nicholas Brendon, \u201cBuffy the Vampire Slayer\u201d star, has died at the age of 54, according to a statement posted via Instagram<\/a> on Friday. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe are heartbroken to share the passing of our brother and son, Nicholas Brendon. He passed in his sleep of natural causes,\u201d his family wrote, noting that \u201cMost people know Nicky for his work as an actor and for the characters he brought to life over the years.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cIn recent years Nicky has found his passion in painting and art,\u201d the statement continued. \u201cNicky loved to share his enthusiastic talent with his family, friends and fans.<\/p>\n
