The Afghan Whigs<\/a> have announced the release of their new single, \u201cHouse of I,\u201d<\/a> as they prepare for their upcoming 40th Anniversary North American Tour beginning next week.<\/p>\n \u201cHouse of I\u201d is The Afghan Whigs\u2019 first new music since 2022 via Royal Cream\/BMG. The single is driven by pounding drums alongside guitars and caustic lyrics steeped in desire. Greg Dulli\u2019s distinctive and unmistakable vocals deliver the lyrics. The single was produced and mixed by both Dulli and Christopher Thorn and was recorded at Marigny Sound in New Orleans, LA.\u00a0<\/p>\n Dulli commented, \u201cLaid this one down in New Orleans last summer, was looking for an up-tempo banger and feel like we found one here.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n In addition to releasing their single, the band will begin their 40th Anniversary North American Tour. The tour includes 21 dates and includes three shows in New York. The tour begins in Woodstock on April 25th at the Bearsville Theater, and will also visit New York City\u2019s Webster Hall on April 30th and Buffalo\u2019s Town Ballroom on May 4th.<\/p>\n Greg Dulli, the band\u2019s co-founder, commented, \u201c40 years later, I still get to do the thing I love the most. Writing songs and performing them with my friends all over the world. I truly have to pinch myself.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n The band has three critically acclaimed albums: \u201cDo to the Beast\u201d (2014), \u201cIn Spades\u201d (2017), and \u201cHow Do You Burn?\u201d (2022).
