The track is taken from their upcoming second studio album <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/distortedsoundmag.com\/cage-fight-announce-new-album-exuvia\/\"><strong>Exuvia<\/strong><\/a>, which is set to be released on May 1st via <strong>Spinefarm Records<\/strong>. The song also features a guest appearance from <strong>Julien Truchan<\/strong> of <strong>BENIGHTED<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking about the single, vocalist <strong>Rachel Aspe<\/strong> explains, <em>\u201cwe wanted to write a fun, sing-along party song with themes of determination and fighting spirit, and the result is <strong>Pick Your Fighter<\/strong>. I also wanted to pay tribute to a French artist who marked my teenage years, and my dad suggested <strong>N\u00c2DIYA<\/strong>, an R&amp;B singer who is huge back home. Musical and lyrical motifs in <strong>Pick Your Fighter<\/strong>\u00a0nod to <strong>N\u00e2diya<\/strong>\u2018s hit <strong>Et C\u2019est Parti<\/strong>, a motivational party song that was a huge hit. The crowning touch is some very heavy guest vocals from my French friend <strong>Julien Truchan<\/strong> of the band <strong>BENIGHTED<\/strong>. And there are pig squeals, many pig squeals!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Inspired by the <strong>Et C\u2019est Parti<\/strong> music video, which uses a boxing ring as metaphor, the <strong>Pick Your Fighter<\/strong>\u00a0video adopts the style of an 8\u2011bit combat video game. The band collaborated with<strong> Enemy of Boredom Academy<\/strong>, an organisation supporting neurodivergent young people in creative media.<\/p>\n<p>Drummer <strong>Nick Plews<\/strong> comments: <em>\u201cThat lightbulb moment, which came in the back of the van after a gig, was so exciting. I couldn\u2019t wait to get back and rally the troops to get this looking awesome!
