\n\tJelly Roll<\/a> has largely kept his thoughts about politics to himself, but backstage at the Grammy Awards Sunday night (Feb. 1), he said that\u2019s about to change. And it will be \u201csoon.\u201d<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\tExplore\t\t<\/p>\n<\/h3>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p><\/div>\n \t\t\t<\/a>\n\t<\/div>\n <\/p>\n \t<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n See latest videos, charts and news<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n \n\tIn the press room, Jelly Roll was asked if he \u201cwould be willing to comment about what\u2019s happening in the country,\u201d he first stressed that \u201cpeople shouldn\u2019t care to hear about my opinion, I\u2019m a dumb redneck,\u201d adding that he doesn\u2019t have social media and often goes months without a phone. \u201cI hate to be an artist who\u2019s that aloof, but I\u2019m so disconnected from what\u2019s happening\u2026. I didn\u2019t even know politics were f-cking real until I was in my mid-20s in jail. When you grow up in a drug addict household, you think we have common calls about what\u2019s happening in world politics. We\u2019re just trying to find a way to survive, man.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tHe then added, though, he was ready to speak out. \u201cI have a lot to say about it and I\u2019m going to in the next week. And everybody\u2019s going to hear exactly what I have to say in the most loud and clear way I\u2019ve ever spoken in my life. I look forward to it.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tJelly Roll was one of the night\u2019s big winners, taking home all three Grammys he was nominated for. In the pre-telecast, he and Shaboozey<\/a> won the trophy for best country duo\/group performance for \u201cAmen,\u201d while he and Brandon Lake<\/a> were victorious in the best contemporary Christian music performance\/song for \u201cHard Fought Hallelujah.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tThen on the telecast, Jelly Roll\u2019s Beautifully Broken<\/em> nabbed best contemporary country album. As he often has when giving an acceptance speech, Jelly Roll took us to church and perhaps hinted what is to come by declaring, \u201cJesus is not owned by one political party.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tJelly Roll also has new music coming, which he spent this past year working on, and he promises a lot of songs are coming fans\u2019 way. \u201cI spent a year really praying about what my sound is going to be and the message I wanted to bring to the world,\u201d he says. \u201cI wrote 100 songs and I\u2019m fixing to start dropping music like I\u2019m an independent kid again. It\u2019s going to be so much fun this year, I\u2019m probably going to drop more music this year than I\u2019ve ever dropped in my career in the next 12 months.\u201d<\/p>\n\n
