In December 2025, Hallmark surprised viewers by announcing that When Calls the Heart <\/strong><\/em>had been renewed<\/strong><\/a> for season 14<\/strong> in 2026. But that\u2019s not all\u2014the show also announced Lori Loughlin<\/strong> will return as Abigail Stanton, close to a decade after her last episode in 2019.<\/p>\n

Even though it\u2019s unclear when Lori will actually appear on When Calls the Heart <\/em>season 14, fans do know that her character, Abigail, had a major role in the shaping of Hope Valley.<\/p>\n

Originally a widow of one of the men killed in the mines in Coal Valley, she would eventually become the owner of the town caf\u00e9. Abigail also served as Hope Valley’s mayor for a short time and was the foster mom to Cody and Rebecca Stanton. And when she eventually left WCTH <\/em>in season 6, it was because Abigail needed to take care of her ill mother.<\/p>\n
