Bizarre as it sounds, the idea of cloning them was discussed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere were Zoom meetings with the TV people, and email exchanges. At one point she wanted to get what she called her \u2018team\u2019 involved.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSarah seemed to be up for anything, provided she was paid \u2013 and particularly if she could do some travelling in the process and meet rich aristos who might like to own a corgi.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The late Queen held a lifelong affection for the breed after <a target=\"_blank\" class=\"ck-custom-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/women\/life\/corgis-family-queens-dogs-became-much-pets\/\">falling in love with them as a child<\/a>. Many of her dogs were the direct descendants of her first, Susan, which was given to her as an 18th birthday present by her parents in 1944.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"u-heading-size-medium u-heading-style-normal\">\u2018Needing to make money!\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>According to The Mail on Sunday, a synopsis of what would take place on Ms Ferguson\u2019s corgi programme read: \u201cWhen Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, is bequeathed two of the Queen\u2019s beloved corgis, she decides to embark on a bold and controversial business venture \u2013 cloning the royal pups.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut as she navigates the complex world of genetics and royal protocol, Sarah must also grapple with her own personal demons and strained relationship <a target=\"_blank\" class=\"ck-custom-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/royal-family\/2026\/02\/02\/sarah-ferguson-epstein-no-woman-left-royal-family-with-head\/\">with the Royal family<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The synopsis is also said to have claimed that King Charles\u2019s decision to cut Mr Mountbatten-Windsor\u2019s allowance had \u201cdramatically impacted\u201d Ms Ferguson\u2019s income.<\/p>\n<p>In 2023, the King made a cut to the his brother\u2019s annual allowance of \u00a3249,000 under plans to make a \u201cslimmed down\u201d monarchy. Mr Mountbatten-Windsor had stepped back from life as a working royal in 2019, following revelations about his links <a target=\"_blank\" class=\"ck-custom-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/royal-family\/2026\/02\/06\/sarah-ferguson-unpaid-debts-drove-andrew-into-epstein-arms\/\">to Jeffrey Epstein<\/a>, the paedophile.<\/p>\n<p>The pitched show synopsis reportedly added: \u201cAt 63, Fergie finds herself, like so many other people, facing a dramatic change in economic outlook later in life \u2013 needing to make money!\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"u-heading-size-medium u-heading-style-normal\">\u2018She declined the proposal\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>Since she attempted to have the show produced, however, revelations of Ms Ferguson\u2019s ties to Epstein have further tarnished her reputation.
