Princess Eugenie<\/a> is said to be “in denial” about her royal exile, with a source adding that she is putting her “head in the sand”. The royal, who is celebrating her 36th birthday today, has been dealing with the fallout of her parents’ connection with the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Along with her sister Princess Beatrice<\/a>, Eugenie’s future within the Firm was thought to have been unaffected by the scandal involving their parents – but it appears the sisters could face the same fate. Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, who divorced in 1996, were evicted from Royal Lodge last month – just months after they both lose their royal titles and honours.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

According to the Daily Mail, a source said: “[Eugenie] has apparently gone into denial \u2013 fingers in the ears, head in the sand, hoping it will all go away”.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Speaking of Beatrice, the source revealed that she has had a different response to the scandal than her younger sister.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The source added: “Beatrice is trying to come to terms with it matter-of-factly, although can\u2019t help bursting into tears regularly – not for her father but for the implosion of her own world and, especially, the family\u2019s cold shoulder. Her royal status means more to her than Eugenie.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

A Palace insider told the Daily Mail: “Beatrice has taken it the hardest, she’s been completely blindsided by everything that’s happened.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Both Beatrice and Eugenie have now been “banned” from the royal procession at this year’s Royal Ascot.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

A royal source told the Mail that the sisters had “been informed they can’t be there this year”. As well as the procession ban, another source added: “The royals have been told they can’t be photographed with the girls for the rest of the year.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
