Greg Davies is primed to host this year’s BAFTA Television Awards with P&O Cruises this spring.<\/p>\n
Celebrating the very best that TV has had to offer in the past year, the star-studded event will take place at Royal Festival Hall on Sunday 10 May, bringing together talent from all corners of the entertainment world.<\/p>\n
Davies is one of the UK’s most beloved comedians, writers and actors, known for his distinctive comedy style and (literal) towering presence. Some of his best known works include The Inbetweeners, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, The Cleaner and, of course, Taskmaster.<\/p>\n
Davies said: “I am thrilled to be presenting the 2026 BAFTA Television Awards with P&O Cruises. I see the whole event as an opportunity to wave a flag for this beloved medium and, with the exception of one commissioner, two execs and a co-star that I have personal beef with, I will do everything I can to ensure it\u2019s a night of warm celebration for all.”<\/p>\n
The comedian takes over from Alan Cumming, who hosted the TV awards last year, though hosted the film BAFTAs earlier this year.<\/p>\n Last year’s awards ceremony delivered an average audience of 2.5 million on BBC One and iPlayer while the BAFTA social channel generated over 23 million video views on awards day.<\/p>\n Emma Baehr, executive director of awards & content at BAFTA, commented: “We\u2019re excited to have Greg Davies hosting this year\u2019s BAFTA Television Awards with P&O Cruises. We can\u2019t wait to shine a spotlight on the creatives who defined 2025\u2019s standout programmes.”<\/p>\n And voting has begun for this year’s ceremony, with The P&O Cruises memorable moment award nominees recently revealed<\/a>.<\/p>\n This year’s nominees include the moment when Jamie snaps at the psychologist in Adolescence<\/a>, the scene were Danny asks Jack “I didn\u2019t make it, did I?” by the sea in Big Boys<\/a> and the scene in Blue Lights<\/a> where the police are warned of an ambush plot to silence a key witness.<\/p>\n The other three nominees on the list are when Alan Carr won The Celebrity Traitors<\/a>, Bob Mortimer and Richard Ayoade\u2019s speed date in Last One Laughing<\/a>, and the scene in What It Feels Like for a Girl<\/a> where Byron leaves for Brighton to start uni and introduces herself as Paris.<\/p>\n The Memorable Moment Award is the only category at the BAFTA Television Awards which is decided by the public, with voting open right now<\/a> until 9pm on Wednesday 22 April – so get your votes in!<\/p>\n The 2026 BAFTA Television Awards will be broadcast on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Sunday 10 May.<\/strong><\/p>\n Check out more of our Entertainment<\/a> coverage or visit our TV Guide<\/a> and Streaming Guide<\/a> to find out what’s on.
