In early December 2025, Noah Kahan<\/strong><\/a> began to tease his next album, currently thought to be titled The Last of The Bugs<\/em>. Since then, there has been a trail of clues left by the \u201cStick Season\u201d singer; here\u2019s a comprehensive timeline of everything we know here at Melodic Mag.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n On December 2, 2025, Kahan teased a TikTok page, entitled @thelastofthebugs<\/a>, with a link to follow the page in his Instagram Bio. At the time, there was only one video posted showing Kahan standing in the snow with the text \u201cyou weren\u2019t supposed to find this\u2026only the last of the bugs ever do<\/a>\u201d overtop. Additionally, the sound on the video was a snippet of what fans presume to be a section of a new song on the album.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u266c original sound \u2013 Kahan Archive<\/a><\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/blockquote>\n The following day, the singer went on live and announced that the album was ready. With that, he also expressed that he \u201creally appreciate[s] your patience, [he\u2019s] not allowed to say when it\u2019s coming out or anything like that,\u201d but that \u201cit\u2019ll be worth the time [we] have been waiting.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Then, two days later, on December 5, Kahan posted another video to the TikTok page showing him with a teasing expression, utilizing a soundclip that features the lyrics \u201cas the last of the bugs leave their homes again\u201d from his song \u201cThe View Between Villages\u201d with the caption \u201cCall me when the bugs don\u2019t die.\u201d It is at this point that fans began to heavily speculate an early Spring album release date, aka, the time of year when all bugs return to nature.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Over a week later, on December 15th, another video was posted to @thelastofthebugs on TikTok; however, this time the video was an audio file of a song seemingly titled \u201cPorch Light\u201d from the new album, with the caption \u201cHeard there was a banjo recession.\u201d Some of the lyrics featured include \u201cI ain\u2019t holding breath, I ain\u2019t holding any faith at all.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Most notably, Kahan kicked off the new year and celebrated his birthday by sharing an image of a handwritten letter to the TikTok page with the caption \u201cdon\u2019t forget to wish me a happy bday.\u201d To add to this, he uses the official soundbite of a song he teased much earlier in 2025 entitled \u201cThe Great Divide.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n On Instagram, the singer has been much quieter, occasionally sharing cryptic things on his story, including one post on December 22nd of a selfie of him with the words \u201cBTW ANYONE WORRIED THAT THEY\u2019VE HEARD THE ALBUM THRU THE SONGS I\u2019VE TEASED HAS U AIN\u2019T SEEN NOTHING YET.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Then, on January 14th, Kahan posted a Reel of a montage of footage from the process of recording the new album to music from \u201cThe Great Divide.\u201d The video has the words \u201conly the last of the bugs can hear this,\u201d and the caption reads \u201cYou inched yourself across the great divide.\u201d He then shared this Reel to his story with a link to pre-save the new album and added this link to his Instagram bio as well.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Despite his relatively mysterious messaging on social media, Kahan has been sharing much of his new work at live shows including performances of \u201cPorch Light,\u201d \u201cThe Great Divide,\u2019\u201d \u201cAll Them Horses,\u201d \u201cDeny, Deny, Deny,\u201d and many others. Most recently, he debuted \u201cHaircut\u201d at Out of the Blue Fest\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n There is still no official release date known, but fan theories of an early Spring\/March album are strong, given the singer\u2019s mention of \u201ccoming out of hibernation,\u201d and early Spring being when the last of the bugs come out of hibernation and leave their homes. <\/span><\/p>\n This year, Spring begins on March 20th, and with that being a Friday, it could serve as the perfect day to release an album.
