But back in the day, Nathan starred in the sci-fi series <em data-node-id=\"1.3\">Firefly<\/em>, where he portrayed Malcolm \u201cMal\u201d Reynolds, the captain of the ragtag spaceship Serenity. The show followed Mal and his crew as they tried to survive a totalitarian regime in space. And although the series was cancelled after just one season in 2002, <em data-node-id=\"1.5\">Firefly <\/em>continues to have a legion of fans hoping for a reboot.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"2\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">So, is there a chance for <em data-node-id=\"2.1\">Firefly <\/em>to return to TV? As Nathan (along with former co-stars <strong data-node-id=\"2.3\">Alan Tudyk, Gina Torres, Jewel Staite, Morena Baccarin, Sean Maher, Summer Glau,<\/strong> and <strong data-node-id=\"2.5\">Adam Baldwin<\/strong>) revealed in a video on Instagram on March 15, he is trying to revive the show by bringing it to an animated format.
