Do Upbeat Tunes Influence Your Spending At Supermarkets?<\/h3>\n

A recent article in Reader’s Digest<\/a>\u00a0explains that happy, upbeat music can make us get completely lost in the shopping experience, and\u00a0according to a study from the University of Bath School of Management,\u00a0we can end up spending about\u00a010% more<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

And it’s not just supermarkets, but other stores too, with about 80% of those polled saying they enjoy the music being played in stores, and 40% admitted they’ll stay in a store longer when a good song comes on.<\/p>\n

Another key takeaway from the report is that 77% of customers are\u00a0more likely to wait in line if an engaging song is playing.<\/p>\n

Now every time I’m at the supermarket, I’ll probably be thinking about the music and how much extra money I might be spending because of it!<\/p>\n
