T\u2019Pau are officially back with \u2018Be Wonderful\u2019, their first album of original material in 11 years, landing this spring with a fresh anthem in the shape of lead single \u2018Read My Lips\u2019.<\/p>\n
Still led by founding members Carol Decker and Ronnie Rogers, the current T\u2019Pau line\u2011up features a six\u2011piece live band behind them on stage. The band are pairing the new record with a full UK headline tour, giving fans the chance to hear classic hits and brand\u2011new tracks in one night.<\/p>\n
Frontwoman Carol Decker describes the project as a creative reset, fuelled by hard-won confidence, DIY studio graft and a desire to push back against the “noise'”of modern life.<\/p>\n

It features a photo of 10-year-old Carol, taken by her late uncle in the late \u201860s. “I love that I’m posing for it, it’s not an accidental snap. I like the slight distraction in my face, what was I thinking?!”, she said.<\/p>\n
Carol also admits she\u2019s wary of how a new album might be received after so many years away, saying: \u201cI’m looking forward to \u2018Be Wonderful\u2019 coming out, but also quite nervous as I haven’t really stuck my head above the parapet for a while in terms of presenting a new album.”<\/p>\n
She added: “T\u2019Pau are privileged to still play our classic hits regularly, but it is nerve-racking to put out some new music, especially as the music business today is tougher than ever. So I\u2019m feeling this mixture of nerves, hope and excitement!”<\/p>\n
Explaining the long gap between studio albums, Carol reveals: “I hadn\u2019t felt very motivated to write for the longest time”. She was born in Liverpool, grew up in Shropshire, and for the last 20 years has lived in Oxfordshire.<\/p>\n
Adding: “I started a different life with my husband and had a family to raise, so my head wasn\u2019t in the same space. Then, in the early 2000s the 80s live circuit really picked up and I really haven’t stopped working live since then, having a lot of fun all around the world. I would still come up with song ideas now and again and record them on my iPhone, and Ronnie is always writing and is very creative. Now the kids are in their twenties I finally had the time and head space so I could set my mind to it – and we finished an album!”<\/p>\n
\u2018Be Wonderful\u2019 packs 10 tracks that blend T\u2019Pau\u2019s signature big\u2011chorus songwriting with a contemporary polish. Lead single \u2018Read My Lips\u2019 sets the tone, with driving guitars, huge drums and Carol\u2019s still\u2011piercing vocals carrying a message of self\u2011empowerment in a world that\u2019s constantly shouting back at you.<\/p>\n
The full track list includes:<\/strong><\/p>\n According to Carol, \u2018Read My Lips\u2019 digs into standing your ground when people \u2013 including anonymous voices on social media \u2013 try to dictate what you should say, do or look like. The pop-rock singer describes it as being about “pushing back and doing what you feel is right for you”, overcoming self\u2011doubt and keeping your “foot on the gas” even when the commentary gets nasty.<\/p>\n Across the record, fans can expect the hallmarks that made \u2018China In Your Hand\u2019 and \u2018Heart and Soul\u2019 huge in the late \u201980s \u2013 big melodies, guitar heft and emotional choruses \u2013 now filtered through the band\u2019s lived experience and independence.<\/p>\n ‘Be Wonderful’ marks T\u2019Pau’s first set of original material since 2015\u2019s \u2018Pleasure and Pain\u2019. Carol and fellow founding member Ronnie Rogers recorded the album at Ronnie\u2019s Up The Lane studio in Monmouth, South Wales, taking full control of the recording and production just as they did in the band\u2019s early days.<\/p>\n Without a major\u2011label budget this time, they leaned into a more in\u2011house, hands\u2011on approach that Carol says forced them to be “really creative like we were in the early days when we were starting out.”<\/p>\n \u2018Be Wonderful\u2019 is releasing on 10th April 2026 on LP, CD and digital formats, giving fans multiple ways to take home the band\u2019s first new songs in over a decade.<\/p>\n Ahead of the album, \u2018Read My Lips\u2019 arrived on 20th March 2026, kicking off the campaign with a punchy, message\u2011driven single.<\/p>\n The album\u2019s release dovetails with T\u2019Pau\u2019s \u2018Be Wonderful\u2019 UK headline tour, which runs through April and into May 2026, including dates in Leeds, Basingstoke, London, Holmfirth, Sunderland, Glasgow, Chelmsford, Shrewsbury, Liverpool, Sale, Milton Keynes\/Wavendon, Bury St Edmunds, Stroud and Neath.<\/p>\n Tickets are available now<\/a>, with the band promising all the hits, fan favourites and new material in the set.
