Songwriter Chip Taylor <\/strong>has died just two days after his 89thbirthday<\/a>. Taylor was best known for the 1960s hit song \u201cWild Thing\u201d by The Troggs.<\/p>\n Billy Vera<\/strong> revealed news of Taylor\u2019s death. Vera kept the caption simple, revealing only that he had lost his friend.<\/p>\n \u201cRIP: Chip Taylor, my friend and songwriting mentor, last night in hospice,\u201d read the caption.<\/p>\n According to TMZ<\/a>, Taylor died on Monday, March 23, after spending time in hospice care. The cause of death<\/a> has not been revealed.<\/p>\n Taylor spent his life in music<\/a>, writing hits like \u201cAngel of the Morning,” originally recorded by Evie Sands.<\/strong> It was later recorded by Juice Newton<\/strong> and became a popular country song<\/a> in the 1980s. The song was also interpolated for Shaggy<\/strong>\u2019s 2001 song \u201cAngel.\u201d<\/p>\n Some of his other popular songs include Willie Nelson<\/a><\/strong>\u2019s “He Sits at Your Table,” “I Can’t Let Go,” recorded by Evie Sands, the Hollies, and Linda Ronstadt,<\/a><\/strong> and \u201cWorry” by Johnny Tillotson<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Taylor released his own music, too. His first song, “Here I Am,” came out in 1962.
