Anne Hathaway is well aware of the excitement fans feel about the upcoming sequel<\/a> of her cult-classic film The Devil Wears Prada<\/em>\u2014as well as of the pressure and responsibility that comes with making it\u2014which is why she made sure to speak her mind when it came to details she found important about the movie.<\/p>\n

Speaking with Harper\u2019s Bazaar<\/em> for Hathaway<\/a>\u2019s new cover story<\/a>, the iconic Meryl Streep<\/a> (who plays the editor in chief of prestigious fashion magazine Runway<\/em> in the films) pointed out that Hathaway spoke to producers to make sure that the models featured in the sequel represented healthy and natural bodies.<\/p>\n

Streep particularly recalled the moment when she, Hathaway, and their co-stars attended actual fashion shows during Milan Fashion Week last year<\/a> while filming. They all sat front row, and Streep said she was instantly \u201cstruck by how not only beautiful and young\u2014everyone seems young to me\u2014but alarmingly thin the models were. \u2026 I thought that all had been addressed years ago. Annie clocked it too.\u201d Streep added, \u201cand she made a beeline to the producers about it, securing promises that the models in the show that we were putting together for our film would not be so skeletal! She\u2019s a stand-up girl.\u201d<\/p>\n

Elsewhere in the interview, Hathaway spoke about her own struggles with beauty, aging, and body image<\/a>, and how she has come to be happy in her body at age 43. \u201cSome days you look in the mirror and you\u2019re just like, \u2018Not bad.\u2019 And some days you look in the mirror and you\u2019re like, \u2018What?\u2019\u201d she said candidly, adding, \u201cWhen I was expecting to see something that I am not, I felt insecure. But when I actually looked at what it actually is, I was okay with it.\u201d<\/p>\n
