Jinger Duggar Vuolo, part of the family whose lives were documented on TLC\u2019s \u201c19 Kids and Counting,\u201d addressed her brother Joseph Duggar\u2019s recent arrest, saying it\u2019s \u201cunthinkable.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cIt has been such a long week,\u201d the 32-year-old said Wednesday on her podcast with her husband, Jeremy Vuolo<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s been one of those weeks that feels like years, and I did not think that my heart could break like it has this week. The pain and heartbreak that we\u2019ve had over this, and just thinking of how it\u2019s affected so many. Yeah, it\u2019s just unthinkable. It\u2019s so hard and painful on many levels.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Jeremy Vuolo said it\u2019s been \u201cheartbreaking\u201d thinking about the victim, \u201cwho was brave enough to share her story,\u201d and it\u2019s \u201cunimaginable\u201d thinking about the effect on her life. He added that they are praying for the victim.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The former reality TV personality said she didn\u2019t \u201ceven have words.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Duggar Vuolo added, \u201cAll we can do in those moments is just cry out to God and ask him to sustain us and give us help.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

She continued: \u201cYou can\u2019t be prepared for news like this, even though we\u2019ve experienced something very similar before with one of my other siblings, who made unthinkable choices and decisions that have affected all of us.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Duggar Vuolo\u2019s brother, Joseph Duggar, was arrested on March 18<\/a> for allegedly molesting a 9-year-old girl when he was 25. A few days later, Joseph Duggar\u2019s wife, Kendra Duggar, was arrested<\/a> on child endangerment charges. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

These arrests come just about four years after Josh Duggar, the eldest Duggar child of parents Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar, was sentenced to 12 years in prison<\/a> for possessing child sexual abuse material. Before that conviction, it was revealed that Josh Duggar molested five underage girls<\/a>, including four of his sisters. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Jinger Duggar Vuolo is the second direct family member to speak out on Joseph Duggar\u2019s arrest. Jill Duggar Dillard, one of their sisters, released a statement from her family, saying they \u201cstrongly condemn abuse.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cWe support the rule of law and hope that justice will be achieved,\u201d the statement reads<\/a>. \u201cOur hearts go out to the innocent juvenile victim of this unspeakable crime and her family. We pray God gives her strength, comfort and hope, and that she is able to get all the help and support she needs and deserves in the days ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Amy Duggar King, the family\u2019s outspoken cousin, said in a statement Friday<\/a> that she was \u201cshocked\u201d but \u201cnot surprised\u201d about Joseph Duggar\u2019s arrest. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Duggar family starred in TLC\u2019s \u201c19 Kids And Counting,\u201d a reality TV show showcasing the group and their fundamentalist Christian upbringing. The Duggars subscribed to Bill Gothard\u2019s Institute in Basic Life Principles, which taught extreme modesty, courtship over dating and homeschooling<\/span>. Gothard\u2019s teachings were the subject of the 2023 documentary \u201cShiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets,\u201d which highlighted the sexual harassment and abuse claims against Gothard<\/a>. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
