Sublime<\/a> have announced Until the Sun Explodes<\/em>, their first album in nearly three decades and first full-length with singer Jakob Nowell as frontman. It\u2019s set for release on June 12th via Atlantic Records. The title track, which also serves as the lead single, is streaming below.<\/p>\n Expect to feel a bit of nostalgia when listening to the project, as it will be \u201crooted in the band\u2019s classic sound while opening a new chapter,\u201d per a press release. The LP will feature collaborators including Pennywise\u2019s Fletcher Dragge, Bad Brains\u2019 H.R., and G. There\u2019s no replacing history, period,\u201d said Nowell, son of late lead singer Bradley Nowell. \u201cUntil the Sun Explodes<\/em> the album is an epilogue, and \u2018Until the Sun Explodes\u2019 the single is the epilogue to the epilogue. It is a tribute to the expansive works of Sublime, it is an acknowledgment for all that my father has done for me my entire life, and most importantly, it is a thank you. It moves at a brisk pace as the young frontman sings to his father. It mixes melancholy with a feel-good vibe that sticks around long after it ends.<\/p>\n \u201cThis song is the title track of our new album, and it expresses the gratitude we all feel as well as our intent for the future of our band and the music we love,\u201d said Sublime drummer Bud Gaugh in a statement.<\/p>\n Sublime have announced new tour dates in support of the upcoming album.
