Amanda Peet<\/strong><\/a> is calling on friends, neighbors <\/span>and <\/span><\/em>family for support.<\/span><\/p>\n

Days after the <\/span>Dirty John <\/span><\/em>alum revealed she had been <\/span>diagnosed with breast cancer<\/span><\/a>, she shared how her and husband <\/span>David Benioff<\/strong>\u2019s kids <\/span>Frances<\/strong>, 19, <\/span>Molly<\/strong>, 15, and <\/span>Henry<\/strong>, 11, have dealt with the health update.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThey’ve been great,\u201d Amanda told E! News\u2019 <\/span>Will Marfuggi<\/strong><\/a> in an exclusive interview, noting she needed to be in the right mindset before sharing the news with them. \u201cI definitely had to get myself together before including them.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The 54-year-old added, \u201cThe hard part was realizing that nothing is certain and there was going to be no perfect time to tell them.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

In her March 21 essay published in <\/span>The New Yorker<\/span><\/em><\/a>, Amanda shared that her cancer was hormone-receptor-positive and HER2-negative, meaning it is less aggressive and often easier to treat than more aggressive forms of breast cancer. She also noted that she would \u201conly need a lumpectomy and radiation,\u201d not a double mastectomy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
