Describing the Princess’s appearance as a signal that she is a “powerful royal matriarch”, body language expert, Judi James, exclusively told the Daily Express: “Catherine provided the visual counter-balance: with a woman finally being ordained as Archbishop, Kate’s look screamed powerful royal matriarch, with body language and styling that made her appear elegantly full-on firm and fierce.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
She said: “Her shoulder pads are getting power-dressing sharper and larger, and this monochrome outfit gave an uncompromising look.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
The expert commented on Catherine’s choice of grey clothing. She explained: “It is the second time she has worn grey recently, and the appearance of a colour normally linked to the boardroom suggests a desire to be taken seriously in terms of royal clout.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
“Over in the US we can see First Lady Melania opting for fierce grey tailoring as she moves from being a political ‘plus one’ to asserting some authority in her own right.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Ms James added: “The Prince of Wales check that Catherine wore was even edged in black to add emphatic definition, a look that Margaret Thatcher famously championed during her time as PM.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
The body language expert also analysed Catherine’s recent appearances. She said: “The brim of Kate’s hat was wider and set at more of an angle than usual, and, despite her usual regal smile appearing at times, there are other times when she adopted a more serious look, glancing at her husband in that ‘fierce, firm’ way to suggest future Queen energy.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
