Meghan Markle is said to feel ‘pretty untouchable’ in her long\u2011running feud with the royal family, with insiders claiming in California this week that the Duchess of Sussex is no longer worried about what the palace might do to her and Prince Harry, even as speculation swirls over their royal titles and Prince William’s eventual reign<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The news came after six years of estrangement since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry left their roles as working royals and settled in Montecito, California, following their decision to step back from the royal family in 2020.<\/p>\n

In that time, relations between the Sussexes and the Prince and Princess of Wales have sharply deteriorated, while King Charles’ health and the fallout from historic scandals linked to Prince Andrew have further strained the institution they once served at the heart of.<\/p>\n

Meghan Markle Shrugs Off Palace Title Threats With Bold Confidence<\/h2>\n

Meghan Markle, 44, and Prince Harry, 41, have built a media and philanthropic brand around their life in the United States. Yet rumours about whether ‘The Firm’ might one day move to strip them of their royal titles<\/a> persist in parts of the British press and among royal watchers.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Closer<\/em>, an unnamed insider claimed Meghan ‘isn’t remotely worried about the palace taking action against her or her husband’.<\/p>\n

According to the insider, Meghan ‘isn’t interested in stirring up a new war with The Firm’ because senior royals are ‘too busy dealing with’ the fallout from the former Prince Andrew’s association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.<\/p>\n

The same source argued that from Meghan’s perspective, threats to curtail her status have always been overstated. ‘The last thing King Charles or Prince William want is another messy battle with the Sussexes dominating the headlines,’ they said. ‘In Meghan’s view, all this talk about stripping titles or shutting them down has never been anything more than an empty threat.’<\/p>\n

‘She’s not going to live in fear of something that’s likely never going to happen,’ they continued. ‘She knows there are plenty of people within The Firm that would love to see them punished and have actively been trying to make it happen and nothing has come of it.’<\/p>\n
