Fans of the global animated TV phenomenon \u201cBluey\u201d can see the hugely popular character in a stage show coming to Disneyland<\/a> starting March 22.<\/p>\n Located in the venerable Fantasyland Theatre, \u201cBluey\u2019s Best Day Ever!<\/a>\u2019 incorporates live music, dancing and more at Disneyland park. There\u2019s no additional charge to see the two different rotating shows but, of course, since it\u2019s Disney, you\u2019ll also be able to buy plenty of Bluey stuff, including special food and merchandise.<\/p>\n Alexandra Currie of Whittier said her 5-year-old daughter, Charlotte, loves Bluey and will be excited to see the show at Disneyland.<\/p>\n \u201cShe loves the play they engage in and that the parents are involved,\u201d Currie said. \u201cWe\u2019re annual passholders, so we\u2019ll see it soon.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cBluey\u201d is an Emmy-winning cartoon series from Australia designed for preschool children, based on a cute and loveable Blue Heeler cattle dog puppy. Her younger sister, Bingo, is also in the Disneyland stage show, which will run several times each day. The TV show has become an international blockbuster, airing around the world and also selling albums, books, toys and more.<\/p>\n Most recently, the Fantasyland Theatre has been transformed into a depiction of Bluey\u2019s schoolyard, incorporating a fun fair with games, dancing and more. Showtimes have not been announced, but at various times during the day, Bluey and her sister, Bingo, will appear on stage with a live band and other performers. Reserved seats are not required because the theater is open for families to enjoy Bluey-themed activities. (Check later for showtimes on Disneyland.com<\/a> or the app.)<\/p>\n \u201cWe drew inspiration from so many iconic \u2018Bluey\u2019 moments and themes, and we wanted to pack as many details as we could into this experience,\u201d Jennifer Magill, executive producer, Disney Live Entertainment said in a statement. \u201cBy transforming Fantasyland Theatre into an immersive space full of activities, we found ways to highlight memorable moments that all ages and everyone in the family will enjoy.\u201d<\/p>\n A five-piece band will play new musical arrangements of familiar songs from the animated series. There will also be storytelling and dance-alongs, where kids can explore a life-sized Fairy Garden and Gnome Village, race Barky Boats<\/a> and get on Bluey\u2019s helicopter stump for a pretend ride on the upper and lower grounds of the venue.<\/p>\n Friends, including Chattermax<\/a>, Unicorse<\/a> and a troupe of Grannies<\/a>, will also make an appearance.<\/p>\n Photo opportunities include posing with Bluey\u2019s family car, joining in Bluey\u2019s school class photo and standing in front of Bluey\u2019s fun fair map.<\/p>\n And, then there\u2019s the ever-present merch, which can be found at World of Disney<\/a> in Downtown Disney, at Elias & Co<\/a> in Disney California park and also at the Fantasyland Theatre.<\/p>\n The \u201cBluey\u201d TV show was created by Joe Brumm<\/a>, a native of Queensland, Australia. In published interviews, Brumm has said he decided to make the characters dogs in Australia. It first aired in 2018 and now airs in the U.S. on various Disney channels.<\/p>\n Note that this is an all-new stage show and not the 2019 live show, \u201cBluey\u2019s Big Play<\/a>,\u201d which has toured worldwide.
