Former Real Housewives of Atlanta<\/em><\/a> star Kandi Burruss<\/strong><\/a> is explaining why she paid ex-husband Todd Tucker<\/strong> so much in their divorce settlement.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are joint. Everything is split evenly \u2014 even when it comes to the financial part of it,\u201d Burruss, 49, told Loren LoRosa<\/strong><\/a> during an interview on Thursday, March 27. \u201cWe had properties together that we had to split equally. Basically it\u2019s just so we just have to end up with equal equity.\u201d<\/p>\n

The reality star clarified the lump sum<\/a> she had to give Tucker, 52, adding, \u201cIt is who got what properties and if I ended up with one more, I just had to pay the difference up. So we are still equal in what we got. Because I ended up with more on the property side, then I just paid the different stuff. So it\u2019s not like I had to pay him.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to a settlement agreement obtained by TMZ<\/em> on Wednesday, March 25, Burruss and Tucker will share joint legal and physical<\/a> custody of their kids Ace, 10, and Blaze, 6.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tKandi Burruss has The Real Housewives of Atlanta to thank for introducing her to now-estranged husband Todd Tucker. While filming season 4 of the Bravo reality show in 2011, Burruss had the opportunity to meet Tucker, who was serving as a line producer for the show. A romance blossomed, which led to the pair getting [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Per the arrangement, Burruss will pay Tucker a lump sum<\/a> of $426,000. Neither party will be paid child support or spousal support, and Burruss will keep the children\u2019s passports. It was also noted that the former couple agreed to sell a food truck they own together.<\/p>\n

Details about the real estate divided between them were redacted in the paperwork, but Tucker agreed to leave Burruss\u2019 guest home within 15 days of the parenting deal being signed. Burruss will keep five of their cars, while Tucker got six.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you read the whole thing, we have to be equal in the equity that we have in the properties that we own together,\u201d Burruss continued on Thursday. \u201cWhat I\u2019m saying is we have to be equal in what we both take out of the properties. So if we didn\u2019t sell the properties and we just did based off of, \u2018I\u2019m going to take these two and you take whatever.\u2019 But if my properties may be worth more, then I have to pay the difference so that we\u2019re both still equal.\u201d<\/p>\n
