arrest<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe grandmother, is, you know, obviously there\u2019s a conflict of interest with her because it\u2019s her daughter that did this,\u201d Tate said of Taylor\u2019s mom, Liann May, during a call with police on Feb. 24, 2023, per an audio recording <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/taylor-frankie-paul-ex-tate-claimed-mom-was-coaching-kid-after-dv-incident-exclusive-11935258\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">obtained by People<\/a> Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve noticed she\u2019s already tried gatekeeping \u2014 not gatekeeping \u2014 but, like, she\u2019s coaching my daughter and saying specific things,\u201d Tate then-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen on the night of Feb. 17, 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Tate described the injury as a \u201cgoose egg\u201d but acknowledged he couldn\u2019t take a picture of the bump because it was small and covered by Indy\u2019s hair. <\/p>\n<p>He also asked the police to contact him rather than Taylor\u2019s mom regarding the investigation.<\/p>\n<p>But the embattled \u201cSecret Lives of Mormon Wives\u201d star\u2019s mom, who <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/03\/25\/celebrity-news\/taylor-frankie-pauls-mom-shares-cryptic-post-as-embattled-mormon-wives-stars-scandals-stack-up\/\">shared a cryptic post to Instagram<\/a> on Tuesday, reportedly told police that Indy wasn\u2019t injured during Taylor and Mortensen\u2019s domestic violence incident.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image class=\"credit\">taylorfrankiepaul\/Instagram<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>An officer with the Herriman City Police Department called Liann shortly after 3:15 a.m. on Feb. 18 to check on Indy after learning the then-3-year-old <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/03\/19\/celebrity-news\/taylor-frankie-paul-attacks-dakota-mortensen-with-chair-in-front-of-daughter-video\/\">may have been hit by a metal stool<\/a> during the fight, according to police bodycam footage <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2026\/03\/27\/taylor-frankie-pauls-mom-told-police-daughter-was-not-injured\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">obtained by TMZ<\/a> Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Liann told the officer that Taylor and Tate\u2019s then-3-year-old daughter was asleep, but had \u201cseemed fine\u201d and didn\u2019t appear to have any injuries.<\/p>\n<p>A rep for Taylor didn\u2019t immediately respond to Page Six\u2019s request for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Taylor, 31, and Tate tied the knot in November 2016.
