This year\u2019s Oscars were sinfully entertaining, if you know what I mean, from Coogler\u2019s <\/u><\/a>homage to the movie through an artfully disguised guitar in his hairstyle to the ever-hilarious and forward disses to Chalamet<\/u><\/a> over his recent commentary regarding the arts. With over three hours<\/u><\/a> of run time and 3,000 seats in the theatre<\/u><\/a>, there was much to see and much that was missed, mulled over, or deserves to be brought up again. Here are a few of my Oscars observations and thoughts.<\/p>\n Influencers<\/p>\n Jake Shane, Brittany Broski and Quenlin Blackwell all appeared on the carpet as hosts, in what I assume was an attempt to repopularize the award show, which some people did not appreciate. In a Variety<\/u><\/a> article, Shane\u2019s inclusion was regarded as proof that influencers shouldn’t be there, citing his apparent lack of questions as the issue.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Significant Others<\/p>\n Significant others tend to stir up the internet with their appearances at events. Who they are wearing, who they are there with, how they are acting and more. One significant other in particular caught the crowd’s attention, Hudson Williams\u2019 girlfriend<\/u><\/a>. The couple had broken up entirely on Valentine’s Day when Williams posted a public story declaring their long-term relationship, and it broke up again when Katelyn made an appearance at the afterparty in a beautiful black lace Bronx and Banco gown and a sleek updo. Some social media posts say they are more infatuated with her than with Williams, and others call Connor Storrie his co-star’s boyfriend, and Katelyn his girlfriend, saying it’s unfair that he gets it all.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Most Decorated<\/p>\n This is not an observation, but \u201cOne Battle After Another<\/u><\/a>\u201d<\/u> received six awards at the Oscars. Despite not being on my movie grind lately, these plentiful awards are persuading me to give this movie a watch.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n George Bush<\/p>\n With intricate outfits can come intricate accidents. Kim Kardashian<\/u><\/a>, in a beautiful gold dress paired with tall gold heels, took a tumble into a bush after mentioning that her shoe was loose. Glad to know even celebrities fall victim to fashion mishaps and falls, too.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Trash Talk<\/p>\n Even celebrities gossip, diss and make poorly worded comments. After commentary about the ballet and opera, Chalamet has been under fire, with Conan O’Brien commenting on it and the New York Public Library<\/u><\/a> posting a video of Chalamet in a ballet show as a child. Jimmy Fallon<\/u><\/a> also took plenty of digs at the current president, while RDJ joked with Channing Tatum over a gift of a thong<\/u><\/a>.<\/u><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n With award season coming to a close, I am glad to see content on celebrity shenanigans and the well-deserved recognition for all the work.
