A man and two women were arrested amid an undercover prostitution bust launched for Ultra Music Festival and Miami Music Week, authorities said.<\/p>\n
The operation was undertaken by the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office Human Trafficking Task Force and Miami Police Special Investigations Section to try to identify human trafficking victims during the music events, an arrest report said.<\/p>\n
Detectives who viewed online escort ads sent text messages to a number listed on one and were told by a female that she couldn’t make a date but they should text her friend “Axel” who “has a lot of girls,” the report said.<\/p>\n
A detectives texted the number for “Axel” asking if he had girls available and he replied he had two, the report said.<\/p>\n
They agreed to meet at a hotel in Miami and discussed payment, and “Axel” said the girls could be paid in cash or he would accept money through CashApp, the report said.<\/p>\n
The two females arrived at the hotel in a vehicle registered to 34-year-old Axhel Perea, who texted the detective that they were there, the report said.<\/p>\n
An undercover detective agreed to pay each woman $1,000 in exchange for sex and when the money was handed over they were taken into custody, the report said.<\/p>\n
Perea started to drive away but was detained before he was arrested on two counts each of deriving support from the proceeds of prostitution and directing another to a place of prostitution, the report said.<\/p>\n
The women, 30-year-old Sandra Huaman and 33-year-old Maria Ribeiro, were arrested on charges of committing or engaging in prostitution, the report said.<\/p>\n
Huaman told detectives that she just got to the United States and had met Perea last year when she visited the U.S., the report said.<\/p>\n
Ribeiro said she met him at a club about a year ago, the report said.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
